Henry Garvin is the Department Head and has a bachelors degree in ultrasonography.

The department is equipped with two, 2-dimensional general electronic ultrasound machines all with curve-linear, linear and endovaginal and endorectal transducers. These perform a wide range of examinations which include;

• Obstetrics

• Gynaecological studies

• Vascular tests

• Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) screening

• Cardiac echo

• Abdominal scans

• Small organs (e.g. thyroid gland and testes)

• Musculoskeletal screening including knee, shoulder and ankle joints.

With our newly constructed X-Ray suite, we now have a state-of-the-art digital Phillips X-Ray with CR modern imaging, a processing unit, and a dental OPG machine.

The Department is open 24 hours and run by 3 imaging and ultrasound technologists registered and licensed by the allied health professional’s Council.
