The Director of Herona Hospital Henry Garvin reports that he has organised through links with remote village leaders and schools outreach ‘health days’ on a regular basis. Social workers and health practitioners will travel in the HHL ambulance to these remote areas and provide free services including:

· HIV testing and counselling

· Eye tests and treatment

· Dental examinations and extractions

· Reproductive health advice and counselling

· Vaccinations

· Prenatal care and counselling.

This further emphasises the value of our investment in the ambulance and too increases not only the geographical radius of service provision where none exists but enhances the profile of Herona Hospital.
